Nespresso machines and coffee capsules are successful in producing near espresso quality coffee with less than half the amount of coffee and time needed to produce espresso using a standard espresso machine. Sagada coffee was recognized as one of the best in “International Contest of Coffees Roasted in their Countries of Origin” organized by the Avpa (Agence Pour la Valorisation des Produits Agricoles). Despite this recognition, Sagada coffee production is hard to scale. As local farmers choose to preserve various agricultural traditions and practices, a cup of Sagada coffee is a product of local culture and nature. And we want the world to experience this.
“Barako” in Filipino means “stud” and this exemplifies the taste of Barako coffee. Barako coffee is listed in the Ark of Taste international catalogue of endangered heritage foods by the Slow Food movement. Because of this, Barako coffee production is hard to scale. Despite this, we want the world to experience a truly strong coffee with a Philippine character.
Yes, we are planning to release Philippine coffee other than Sagada and Barako. But due to challenges in supply, these coffee capsules will likely be offered for limited time only. Please visit our official website and Lazada page for limited offerings.
Since we are using coffee beans from different local Philippine coffee farms with customized level of roasting optimal for Nespresso machines, the taste of the coffee in all batches cannot be completely standardized yet. On the flip side, you get to enjoy the diversity of Philippine coffee.
We do not sell coffee beans only as our coffee formulation is designed to be optimal for Nespresso based extraction.
NESPRESSO is a trademark of SOCIETE DES PRODUITS NESTLE S.A. Kapex produces Nespresso compatible capsules but is not in any way affiliated with Nespresso.
